Our Charity

We understand the importance of supporting the community in which we work. This is why each year the president of the Plymouth Law Society nominates a charity. A number of events and fundraisers are then organised to generate some much needed funds for the chosen organisation.

This year the nominated charity is Plymouth Drake Foundation.

The purpose of Plymouth Drake Foundation is to develop wealthy, healthy and lively communities in Plymouth. It aims to achieve this by providing grants to Plymouth’s voluntary and community sector; it funds charities, community groups and social enterprises. To date it has given out more than £650,000 worth of grants to 230 different community groups in Plymouth.

The Foundation strongly believes in Plymouth's passionate voluntary & community sector and by supporting it it has been able to benefit hundreds of Plymouth voluntary and community groups, including charities and social enterprises. This has meant thousands of people from all corners of the city have recieved the support they require.

Drake Foundation gives out grant funding through the Grassroots Endowment fund (delivered in partnership with Devon Community Foundation), and continues to give out grants on behalf of the Royal Naval and Royal Marines Charity and Seafarers UK, as well as exploring other opportunities to manage money from other grant giving bodies.
