The latest episode in Osprey Approach’s podcast series, Empowering Law Firm Leaders, features a conversation with tech entrepreneur Peter Ambrose, who shares how a tech-first approach can benefit modern law firms for the long term.

In Episode 15, Amy Bruce, marketing director at Osprey Approach, speaks to Peter, founder and CEO of London based law firm The Partnership, and conveyancing software provider Legalito, about the critical elements of building a tech-first law firm, the importance of ‘failing fast’, and the benefits of legal technology.

Highlights from the conversation include: –

  • Three essential lessons to running a successful modern law firm;
  • The importance of accountability;
  • Benefits of adopting a ‘fail fast’ mindset; and
  • The role of technology in risk management.

During the conversation, Peter offers practical advice for law firms considering a more tech-focused approached, from the importance of focusing on risk reduction, to measuring success beyond a return on investment (ROI).

Peter believes that the key driver for implementing new technology should be risk management – an approach that has led to significant improvements in efficiency and accuracy at The Partnership. “Always start with risk reduction,” he emphasises. “[Consider] where can we go wrong, and what can we put in place to make sure we don’t go wrong?”

You can also hear Peter’s exclusive advice on becoming a more agile law firm and hear further lessons learnt from his own journey to building The Partnership to a team of 85.
